Chris Porter
Chris Porter first played the organ at the age of one, when he crawled on a live pedal board in the middle of the pastor's sermon. He studied piano for twelve years starting at age six, but it was not until decades later that he decided to take another crack at the organ. He currently substitutes at his home church of University Lutheran in Cambridge, as well as at other Lutheran churches in the greater Boston area.
When he is not playing the organ, Chris works as a consultant at Cambridge Systematics, a transportation planning firm. He also sings with the Cambridge Chamber Singers and with the UniLu choir. He enjoys hiking, biking, and photography. His mother, Emily Maxson Porter, is a retired Lutheran church organist and composer.
