Day 7: Welcome to Le Carla

by Brandon Santini

Essentially just a day for travel to our next city, Toulouse, we were all able to sleep in before leaving our apartment in Paris for the train station Montparnasse. Upon arrival we grabbed a handful of sandwiches before boarding the train.

The five and a half hour journey took us through gorgeous countryside of rolling hills and open farm land. We all slept more on the train and got some work done uploading pictures and catching up on blog writing.

When we arrived in Toulouse, the plan was set that the three drivers (Chris, Gianmarco, and myself) and Noel would take an Uber to the airport to retrieve our car rentals then proceed back to the train station to pick up the others who were waiting in nearby cafes. Our cars this year are a Toyota Auris, a VW Polo, and an Opel Astra.

An hour long drive led us through scenic vistas, farmlands, trees, cottages and more. An unpaved dirt road led us to our country chalet called "Le Carla," featuring many bedrooms, a large kitchen and dining room, living room, Juliet balconies, a pool, outdoor shower, and views for miles. It will involve a little driving getting to Toulouse each day, but at the end of our excursions it will be a welcome place to come back to. Be sure to check out our pictures of the accommodations!
